Well, the invention of herbal fuel by Ramar Pillai has caused delight & amazement to some and consternation to others. So far, he has not revealed the secret formula of the process of manufacturing.
Here is the brief summary of events in the chronological order:
- Ramar Pillai approached IOC(INDIAN OIL CORPORATION which is the only FORTUNE 500 company in India) in 1994 to get assistence for his project. But IOC rejected his proposal and felt it wasn't worth pursuing!.
- DST(Department of Science & Technology in India) encouraged Ramar Pillai to provide the fuel for laboratory tests. The Dept. of Mechanical Engg. of IIT(INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY), Madras concluded that the fuel's performance & efficiency was better than Petrol when tested with 2-stroke & 4-stroke engine.
- The chemical departments of IITs continued to remain baffled by the manufacturing process used by Ramar Pillai.
- Ramar Pillai was invited to the IIT, Madras to reveal the entire manufacturing process to the scientists. But the tensed Pillai did not demonstrate the process successfully to the scientists and said "I will reveal the entire process only if complete security is provided to me and my family".
