Windows 2000 client PC : DNS Configuration

To add DNS server in Windows 2000 client computer, you need to do the following: Right click the "My Network Places" icon on the desktop to open the pop up menu and choose "Properties" (or go to the control panel by clicking Start in the lower left corner and double click the "Network and dialup connections"). In the "Properties" dialog box you will see an icon labeled "Local Area Connection". Right click this icon and select "Properties". Double click the TCP/IP for that interface and you will see the IP address of this client computer. Choose "Use the following DNS Server address" radio button. Enter the PPPshar computer IP address in the "Preferred DNS server field". (192.168.0.1 - if you have followed our recommendations). You will not need to enter an Alternate DNS server. The rest of the configurations should be left default.
