And this year we celebrate the 16th birthday of INTERNET in India.

As on May 31, 2011, there are 840 million (84 crores) mobile subscribers in India.
Active mobile subscribers during May were 588.13 million (58 crores)
Fixed line subscribers are 34.40 million (34 crores) in India.
So total wired and wireless subscribers in India are 874.68 million (87.4 crores)
This data was released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recently.

The Supreme court has ordered to constitute an expert committee to view and submit its recommendations in uniform syllabus. The expert committee consists of educationalists, officials from Tamilnadu Education department and experts from NCERT.
