1.Error: "Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application"
This can happen if you have .NET Framwork 4.0 without the older versions of the .NET framework. Download and install .NET Framework 3.5 to fix this problem. If that does not fix, seach in Google for possible solutions or email us.
2. After clicking on "Save Settings" you might see an error: "System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Contacts Sync\GmailInfo.xml' is denied."
Use Contacts Sync 1.4 and for 1.3 users - If you are using Windows Vista/Windows 7 then make sure you run Contacts Sync with administrator privileges "Run as Administrator" option or allow full access to Contacts Sync's installation directory. This is required to save your Gmail username/password in your computer so that you dont have to type them everytime. This is required only to save settings. After saving Gmail settings, you can run Contacts Sync with normal user privileges. Also see #2. below.
Workaround: Copy the "Contacts Sync" folder to any folder where you have rights to save/delete files. Then run Contacts Sync.exe from that folder. You should be able to save the settings.
3. Error: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80080005.
Make sure you run both Contacts Sync and Outlook with same level of user rights. If you have run Contacts Sync with (Run as Administrator) admin privileges to save Gmail settings, then restart Contacts Sync and run it with normal user privileges.
4. Execution of request failed: http://www.google.com/m8/feeds/contacts/......System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error
This error is most likely due to connection problem - check your internet connection. Firewall/Proxy settings might also cause this error. You will also get this error when Gmail server is not reachable. Try again after sometime.
5. Execution of request failed: http://www.google.com/m8/feeds/contacts/.....<name of your contact> or <email>
If you see this error in errors.log, then it means that Gmail is unable to update that particular Contact. Sync again and the error will go away. If you continue to see this error multiple times for the same Contact Name, the update of this Contact in Gmail has failed due to some conflict in the contact entries. Best way to find out the reason is to compare this Contact between Outlook and Gmail and see what is missed and what values are not updating in Gmail. If you are still unable to find a reason, email us with your observation and screenshot of that contact from Outlook and Gmail.
